Four years ago, on September 28 at 11pm I was trying to induce labor myself. Mac and my Dad, Patrick were passed out from drinking a little too much. So my Momma and I were on a mission. I was ready to have this baby, I had to have her on my Dad's birthday. So! I ate hot wings, jumped on a trampoline and ran up and down the stairs. I was about to give up and go to bed when to my surprise... contractions began! They were 9-11 minutes apart, so I decided to relax and see if I c ... ould sleep a little before going to the hospital. Within the hour they were 5-7 minutes apart, and with Austen being breach I had to get to the hospital fast so she couldn't try coming out herself.
Frantically, my Mom and I tried waking Mac and my Dad up with no luck.. they were out. So we had no choice but to leave without them. We get to the hospital and very quickly was told "it was time to cut". I was having a c-section, and the two most important men in my life were still not waking up. My Mom was watching The Walking Dead marathon on TV, while I began having a panic attack due to the amount of people in my room setting me up to have this baby on top of not having Mac and my Dad there. Finally Mac answers my phone call, realizing that my tan chihuahua was not actually me snuggled up to him. The two of them made it to the hospital in record time, just in time for me to go back into surgery. My Mom, first time grandma was with me in the room. At 3:36am my whole world froze. My panic attack (that never stopped from earlier) was gone as I watched the doctor hold up my 6lb 11oz baby girl. Austen Elise was here. My little grumpy cat, my perfect baby doll was in front of me. I never knew how much love I was capable of giving until I saw her. My love continues to grow each and every day for her.
Today. My baby is 4. She is smart. She is beautiful. She is ruthless. She is confident. She is strong. She is sassy. She is my mini me. I am so lucky to share my life with her, and I cannot wait to continue to watch her play, discover and grow. Happy Birthday to my sour patch kid. I love you, forever.See More
